Children's first dental visit!

The importance of your first visit to the dentist
Children's first visit to the dentist's office may be influenced by the fear associated with the term „doctor” and the lack of hygiene and prophylaxis programs promoted in kindergartens and schools.

The role of the family is crucial in developing a positive attitude towards dental visits. We are proud that our patients recognize that their children's oral health is in safe hands at our clinic!

Appointment with your dentist
The pedodontist (pediatric dentistry specialist) aims to make the first visit as comfortable as possible for little patients. Using age-appropriate language, the doctor explains their role and the function of dental instruments, making the appointment a positive and pleasant experience.

Dr. Maria Nicoară, a specialist in pediatric dentistry, is dedicated to children's dental health. With a friendly and caring approach, Dr. Nicoară creates a safe and comfortable environment, educating children about the importance of oral hygiene in an engaging and approachable way.

Spaceship experiment„

To reduce anxiety and capture the attention of young patients, the paediatric dentist uses interactive techniques and games.

The dental chair becomes the „pilot's chair” and the dental instruments are presented as parts of a spaceship, making it easier for the child to familiarize with the dental environment.

These methods help eliminate fear and make visiting the dentist more enjoyable. At the end of each visit, children are rewarded with surprise prizes, bringing extra joy and motivation.

Pediatric dental treatments and prophylaxis

Pediatric dental prophylaxis focuses on preventing cavities and other dental problems. It is recommended that the first dental visit takes place after the eruption of the first teeth, familiarizing the child with regular visits to the dentist and thus reducing the anxiety associated with them. With proper dental hygiene and regular visits, we can prevent complications and ensure optimal long-term oral health.

Schedule your first visit!
To give your child an enjoyable and educational experience, schedule a consultation at our clinic. Our team of specialists is dedicated to providing the best dental care, turning each visit into an opportunity for learning and positive development.

Treating tooth decay in children

The treatment of tooth decay can be facilitated with the use of DENTAL LASER, which does not require anesthesia in cases of superficial caries. Tooth decay in children develops rapidly due to the thinner and more porous structure of baby teeth compared to permanent teeth. Dr. Maria Nicoară underlines the importance of early dental consultation to prevent complications.

Pediatric Endodontics

Pediatric endodontics involves removing the infected nerve and filling the dental canal, allowing baby teeth to remain in the arch until the permanent tooth erupts. Benefits include:

  • Treatment of teeth with advanced cavities and dental abscesses
  • Keeping baby teeth in the arch until permanent teeth erupt
  • Prevent the spread of infection to the developing permanent tooth

Warning: Although not all dental infections of baby teeth affect permanent teeth, treating them is recommended to prevent complications and effects on the immune system.

BIOLASE WaterLase iPlus 2.0

Benefits for children:

  • Minimally invasive and pain-free procedures: WaterLase uses a water and air (YSGG) technology, without direct contact, heat or vibration, which reduces children's anxiety and the need for anesthesia.

  • Comfortable experience: Ideal for children who are scared of the traditional dental drill.

  • Fast recovery: Due to its low invasiveness, tissues heal faster.

Procedures applicable to children:

  • Preparing cavities (especially 2nd and 5th grades)

  • Discovering teeth embedded in bone structure

  • Interventions without enamel damage (such as removing facets)

Dental radiology for children

Dental radiology is an essential component in the diagnosis and assessment of children's oral health. Together with in-office consultation, dental imaging contributes to a complete and accurate diagnosis. We use state-of-the-art digital dental imaging equipment, which emits an extremely low level of radiation, equivalent to the radiation exposure of a day spent outside.

Radiografie dentara analiza
  • OPG radiography (Orthophantomography): Provides detailed information about the development of your erupting permanent teeth.
  • Periapical radiography: Allows the length of the root, root canal and distance to the permanent tooth to be assessed.
  • X-ray bite-wing: Used to detect interdental caries.

To ensure pain-free dental treatment for children, we have two anesthesia options available:

  • Local anesthesia: Administered as an injection, used for procedures such as molar extraction or complex caries treatments.
  • Topical anesthesia: An anaesthetic spray or gel, used before injectable local anaesthesia.

It is a technique that involves inhaling a mixture of nitric oxide and oxygen through a nasal mask. This method helps to relax the patient and reduce anxiety during the procedure, and after the treatment, the patient inhales only oxygen for a few minutes to return to normal. Inhalosedation is ideal for combating anxiety and provides a pleasant treatment.

Pediatric orthodontics

Pediatric orthodontics focuses on correcting teeth alignment problems and incorrect bite.

When can orthodontic treatment start? Orthodontic treatment usually begins between 12-13 years, when most children have permanent teeth. However, in some cases, an orthodontic evaluation is recommended between the ages of 7-9 years to identify developmental problems in the jaw and mandible.

Dental problems corrected by orthodontics:

  • Front teeth that stick out
  • Crowding of teeth or significant gaps between teeth
  • Asymmetry between mandible and maxilla
  • Deep bite, where the upper teeth cover too much of the lower teeth
  • Reverse bite, where the upper teeth bite behind the lower teeth

Consult your orthodontist to determine the best approach for your child's dental needs and to ensure effective orthodontic treatment.
